3 months agoI didn't expect this food to be great! I came by often to get gas but I saw the menu but I was too busy until months later I found this review which is almost 5-star. So, I decided to order special fries and I was in a happy food coma 😋

4 months agoHow did I not know about this place? Falafel is legit, chicken shawarma and gyro plates were huge! Gyro fries were covered and smothered in meat sauce and feta. Great spot!

Best shawarma I’ve eaten in the United States of America 🇺🇸 you heard it here first, this place deserves a Michelin star..If I knew I would have eaten through the whole menu. The lamb and beef spicy flavor was out of this world. The chicken wrap had the perfect elasticity. Chefs kiss. There should be one in every street corner. 🔥 🔥 🔥

5 months agoForget all other food in Castroville, CA — this joint is the best around. My friend and I are well-versed in all matters of shawarma, gyro, falafel. That being said, this restaurant gets an A+.

5 months agoFrom start to finish fantastic. Welcoming, generous & warm. Customizations and options for spice which is so helpful for varying palettes. My husband and I were born in Detroit and grew up with the privilege of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern/Greek cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed our order of a chicken shawarma wrap. Full of flavor & wrapped super well. We also had some of THE best fries in the county. We will be back.

7 months agoAn absolute hole in the wall. Do not let the fact that this restaurant is located in a Chevron fool you. Coming from an individual with the highest expectations, I was quite skeptical and almost left without walking in. Seeing that the reviews were at an impeccable 4.8 stars, I decided to give it a try. I was greeted by some of the nicest individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate, and decided to eat at a near by beach. The food was so amazing I went back a second time the next day. The chicken was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spice and the basmati rice complemented it beautifully. Complete 10/10- do not miss this!

10 months agoCame here right after a long whale watching trip nearby and this place seriously hit the spot! 🔥 It’s inside a mart at a gas station (easy to miss), but don’t let that stop you the food is super flavorful, fresh, and halal. I had the shawarma and it was packed with flavor, juicy, and satisfying.And off course Philly cheesesteak reviews were so good so had to try that, So worth trying!! Staff was friendly took us 15mins to get the order.

Edited a year agoGuided by the wisdom of the Force, I sensed great promise in this place and ventured forth—and my instincts did not fail me. The chicken gyro with fries I ordered was nothing short of masterful, each bite a perfect balance of flavor and generosity. Though hidden within a humble gas station, do not be deceived by its unassuming exterior. True power often resides where least expected. Takeout-only it may be, but let not that dissuade you—for within, a culinary treasure awaits. A meal worthy of a Jedi, I highly recommend.
